Single panel curtains - one piece of fabric that can be pulled to either side to open.

Double panel curtains - two fabric lengths that are usually pulled apart to each side to open.

Pinch pleat curtains - very traditional where the top fabric is crimped in sections to create volume.

Box pleat curtains - updated traditional where instead of crimped, the sections are folded onto themselves.

Goblet pleat curtains - similar to pinch pleats but gathered below the topper.

Pencil pleat curtains - pinch pleats done in very small sections which resemble pencils as a result.

Grommet curtains - rings affixed to the topper so that the rod can zig-zag through.

Rod pocket curtains - a sleeve is created on the topper so that the rod can go through and let the material naturally gather.

Tab Top curtains - the topper uses tabs of fabric to allow the rod to pierce through.

Tie top curtains - the topper uses lengths of hemmed fabric to tie to the rod as a means to support.

Blackout curtains - heavy or opaque fabric and larger than the window opening to minimize light coming in the room.

Energy-efficient curtains - specially lined panels with light reflecting and uv protecting fabric on the back side.

Window-sill curtains - panels that hang only to the window sill instead of to the floor.

Apron curtains - panels that hang below the window sill but not all the way to the floor.

Cafe curtains - treatment where short panels are affixed to a rod at the top of the window and a second panel is hung on a second rod below, usually to the length of the sill.
